The 20-year-old Hoffenheim defender Tim Drexler looks set to join RB Salzburg before the winter window closes.

Sky Germany reports the transfer can be considered a done deal, with his loan at 1.FC Nürnberg terminated after a verbal agreement between Hoffenheim and Salzburg. Final details will be completed today. Sport BILD adds that he will sign a long-term contract.

The move is permanent, with a total package worth up to €two million.

This season he has featured in 13 of Nürnberg's 15 2.Bundesliga matches, contributing one assist.

He has made 21 appearances for Hoffenheim in all competitions.
