There is a lot of excitement around Chelsea’s attacking options this week. Jamie Gittens seems to be finding his feet, Estevao is impressing whenever he’s given a chance, Liam Delap is back and ready to play and Cole Palmer isn’t far away.

But in the absence of all of these options, there’s no doubt that Alejandro Garnacho took advantage of the chance to show what he can do. This article at GiveMeSport makes it clear that the Argentine knows he picked up a bad reputation with a messy end to his Manchester United career, and is doing all he can to improve his standing at his new club.
The report says the winger is “eager to impress” and has already settled in to London life.
“There’s quiet optimism that the move could be the start of something significant,” the piece continues.
So what can he do to improve his chances of making an even bigger impact? A lot will depend on what happens when those other players return. If Garnacho can build a good understanding with the likes of Palmer and Delap he will remain Maresca’s favoured choice on the left.
Gittens is putting the pressure on now, without doubt. Let’s hope it leads to rapid improvements from both of them. Garnacho as a starter and Gittens as a finisher is quite a natural setup for this team and one we can see Maresca liking.
Also mentioned in this interview was Garnacho’s extra sessions after training and how they’re impressing Chelsea coaches. You can read more about that here.
Moises Caicedo has been praised by former Blue Claude Makelele, who pointed to some of the things he liked most in the midfielder’s game.
