Unión defeated Gimnasia 4-0 in the group stage of the Professional League. The goalscorers were Rafael Profini (3′ 1st half), Luciano Paredes (40′ 1st half, own goal), Marcelo Estigarribia (34′ 2nd half, penalty), and Diego Díaz (38′ 2nd half).
