Eric Dier has reclaimed a starting place at Monaco under Filipe Luis, opening the campaign with another goal against Le Havre.
According to L'Équipe, that selection comes as a mild surprise given talk he could leave the Principality this summer after a disappointing year.
He scored against Le Havre on the opening day of Ligue 1 in August 2025 in a 3-1 win, then repeated the trick on Sunday in a 1-0 victory away in Normandy.
Between those strikes, the 32-year-old England international lived through an eventful season with Monaco, very different to what he expected.
He had arrived on the Rock hoping to play a central role, in line with his status as a former Tottenham and Bayern Munich player.
