According to Sunderland Echo, Betway used Google Maps to total round-trip, stadium-to-stadium distances for British sides across the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.

The Black Cats will visit Torreense, Lech Poznan, Anderlecht and AC Milan, with home games against AZ Alkmaar, Dinamo Zagreb, Jagiellona and Levski Sofia. Hundreds of supporters gathered at the Fans Museum to watch the draw live.

Sunderland’s total comes to 8,716 miles in the league phase, sixth on the list.

Celtic top the chart on 14,228 miles, ahead of Hearts on 14,036. Manchester United are at 10,238.

Liverpool are listed at 9,064, Crystal Palace 9,020, Aston Villa 8,570 and AFC Bournemouth 8,370. Brighton and Hove Albion register 7,920, Manchester City 7,644 and Arsenal 6,456.
