Frank Lampard's Coventry City future has been the subject of speculation this week
Frank Lampard has responded to speculation over his Coventry City future, which has continued to come into question following links to a number of clubs amid the Sky Blues' ongoing promotion charge.
It was reported last month that owner Doug King is keen to tie the 47-year-old down to a new contract, with the Sky Blues in the mix for promotion to the Premier League this season.
However, it has also been claimed this week that Crystal Palace have their sights set on the former England international as a potential replacement to the outgoing Oliver Glasner, who is set to leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season.
Lampard has been in charge at the CBS Arena since November 2024, replacing Mark Robins at the helm, overseeing a fifth place finish in the Championship last season before falling to defeat in the semi-finals against Sunderland.
Coventry are now one of the firm favourites to earn automatic promotion from the second division, as they eye a top flight return for the first time in 25 years.

Lampard has dismissed any discussions on his future at Coventry, instead opting to put all of his attention towards the first team.
He reiterated his happiness at the CBS Arena, but was not drawn into any comments regarding his long-term future with the Championship side, with his current deal set to expire in June 2027.
“No, I’m too focused on football right now,” said Lampard, via Coventry Live.
“I’m very happy here and focused on the football.”
Lampard has proven a popular figure among Sky Blues supporters, with the club now on the cusp of a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2001.
Coventry are leading the way at the top of the Championship table, holding an eight point gap to third place Ipswich Town, albeit having played a fixture more than Kieran McKenna’s team.
Next up for the league leaders is a trip to face Norwich City at Carrow Road on 26 January in a 3pm kick-off.

Talk about Lampard’s future is the kind of distraction that could derail Coventry’s promotion bid, so it’s not surprising that he wants to focus on the football for now.
He still has 18 months left on his current contract, so he should be in no rush to discuss terms on an extension, as he holds all the cards right now.
Lampard could use interest from Palace to leverage better terms from King, or he could keep his options open going into the final 12 months of his current agreement.
A move to Selhurst Park will also be tempting, but it’s better to wait until the summer to even think about it given Glasner remains in charge for the rest of the campaign anyway.
