Manchester United’s triumph over Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend was the first time the team have notched three straight Premier League wins under Ruben Amorim.
Spirits are naturally high within the group, with i Paper claiming “squad camaraderie has reached levels not seen around Carrington for many years”.
That cannot be argued given the reports of toxicity within the club under previous managers. INEOS’ steps in the summer market have certainly aided in this.
Letting go of the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony, and especially Jadon Sancho have helped rid the group of players who do not wish to be at the club, and would have added negativity into the mix.
“Ineos’ gloom purging started with the much-needed departure of “bomb squad” members Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.
“None were trying to create any kind of underground putsch, but public criticism of the manager, along with airing desire to leave, proved to be a dangerous distraction.
“Those who have replaced them have arrived at Old Trafford down to their personality and ability to fit into a revolutionised ethos as much as their talent.”
Even players who have stayed and have been linked with January exits seem genuinely buzzing to be a part of the group, like Joshua Zirkzee.
The Dutchman was spotted celebrating like crazy after the team won at Anfield. Such characters are badly needed.
The likes of Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha have become extremely popular, with “unlikely bromances” springing all across the squad.
“There are no cliques, something highly unusual at multinational football clubs. The new Ineos-led culture ensures everyone gets on with everyone. Nobody is left out of social events, with unlikely bromances forming.
“Zirkzee and Bruno Fernandes have become close ever since bonding on the club’s much-maligned post-season tour of Malaysia and Hong Kong.
“Matheus Cunha and Luke Shaw, hardly typical bedfellows, have struck up a strong friendship, while Diogo Dalot and Benjamin Sesko are seen spending more and more time together, Dalot helping the new arrival with his preparation and recovery, one source added.”
Amorim and INEOS will be delighted with this change in culture, and long may it continue.
