FLW takes a look at how much Rob Holding was earning at Crystal Palace amid his loan move to Sheffield United.

Sheffield United concluded deadline day with a marquee loan deal for Rob Holding from Crystal Palace.

The former Arsenal player has been frozen out of the Eagles' side this year after he questioned a decision made by Oliver Glasner over the post-match warm-down for the unused players in a 2-0 defeat to West Ham United.

This saw the Palace boss open the centre-back up for a move away and the Blades took full advantage of this, picking him up on loan until the end of the season.

Holding's addition appears to be a particularly strong move by Chris Wilder, and if he can regain match fitness quickly, he could become a valuable asset in Sheffield United's defence.

The only issue that will concern the United boss, is the fact that he will have to exclude one of his loan players from the matchday squad, with the signing of Holding taking them over the maximum quota of five.

With all this in mind, Football League World has taken a closer look at his wages during his time at Selhurst Park and how costly his loan deal may be to Sheffield United.

Rob Holding's Crystal Palace wage

Since his move across London, Holding has made just one appearance, but that hasn't stopped him from earning a hefty amount.

According to Capology, the centre-back is on a weekly income of £45,000, meaning that across a season he takes home £2,340,000.

This is more than his previous wage at Arsenal, where every seven days he would take home £40,000.

Compared to most of his teammates at Crystal Palace, Holding earns a relatively modest salary, with players like Matt Turner, Matheus França, and Daniel Muñoz on similar wages. Meanwhile, at the top end of the scale, the Eagles have some significantly higher earners, with Dean Henderson, Eberechi Eze, Daichi Kamada, and new loanee Ben Chilwell all taking home over £100,000 per week.

Unfortunately for Holding, when taking into account his minimal amount of time on the pitch, he probably represents the worst value for money and for that reason, it would be no surprise to see him exit Selhurst Park permanently in the summer.

Holding's wage in comparison to Sheffield United players

While Holding's wage at Palace is £45,000 per week, it doesn't mean that Sheffield United will be forking that out on a consistent basis, with the Blades likely paying a percentage of that figure.

Nevertheless, his seven-day income does place him as one of the highest earners at the club, with only Hamza Choudhury taking home more, at £50,000.

The Blades' current average salary is £15,800 per week and some of their most influential players, like Harrison Burrows and Michael Cooper both earn around that figure.

Looking at the club's top earners, most are loan signings, suggesting that Wilder’s side are not covering their full wages but instead contributing a percentage.

The manager will be hoping that Holding proves to be worth the investment and can make more of an impact at Bramall Lane than he did at Selhurst Park.
