Romelu Lukaku has officially completed his transfer from Napoli to Fenerbahce, but the Partenopei owe 40% of the fixed transfer fee to the Belgian’s former club, Chelsea.

Chelsea earn 40% cut from Lukaku’s Fenerbahce move

Lukaku, 33, has joined Fenerbahce in a deal reported to be worth €6m plus up to €3m in bonuses after spending the last two seasons back in Serie A with Napoli.

Lukaku has reportedly agreed to a significant pay cut in order to join Fenerbahce, with suggestions that he has seen his salary reduced from around €11m net per season net to €6.5m.

Chelsea will be entitled to a 40% cut of Lukaku’s €6m transfer fee, which comes out to €2.4m.

Fenerbahce may have to pay Napoli an additional €3m in bonuses. According to recent reports from Sky Sport Italia, €2m of that will be linked to the number of appearances that the Belgian makes this coming season and an additional €1m will be paid in the event that Fenerbahce win the league in 2026-27.
