Gunners aiming to go one step further in the Carabao Cup this season

The Gunners were beaten finalists in this competition last season, losing 2-0 to Manchester City at Wembley Stadium in March, so will be looking to go one step further this time around.

Mikel Arteta’s side should be in good spirits after starting the campaign with five wins in a row across all competitions, passing a tough examination with flying colours against Sunderland last time out.

This is the third of four consecutive away games for Arsenal before the extended international break and Arteta is expected to ring the changes, handing starts to the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Bruno Guimaraes, Eberechi Eze and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Ipswich, meanwhile, beat Leicester 3-1 in the previous round to set up a showdown with the Premier League champions and come into the game on the back of a 3-2 win over Crystal Palace which snapped a two-game losing streak.

It ended 4-0 to Arsenal the last time these sides met at Portman Road in April 2025, but Ipswich did win a Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg tie here in January 2011 before losing the return game 3-0.
