Napoli have been far from perfect this season. A late goal from Lautaro Martinez ensured Inter earned all three points against them and they were also beaten 2-1 by Como in their previous fixture.

Arsenal’s win over Chelsea at the Emirates on the weekend continued their perfect start to the Premier League season. They have only conceded one goal thus far and scored six in their opening three matches.

Napoli boss Massimiliano Allegri was full of praise for Mikel Arteta ahead of the clash.

“I think Arteta has done an extraordinary job in the last four years,” Allegri told the press.

“He quickly brought a balance to the squad. They are very good on the ball, but just as good when they have to defend. He has instilled a great team mentality.

“We know we are facing the Premier League champions and a team who reached the Champions League Final last season.

Arteta insists that he is very excited to get their Champions League campaign underway.

“I’m really excited,” he said “We know what this competition means to all of us, the experience of last year as well, so we need to start with the first game in a really, really tough place, but really excited to start the campaign.

“Start well tomorrow; that’s the only thing we can do. Start by putting in a big performance tomorrow to increase the probability of winning the game.”
