Wrexham have vastly improved since the turn of the year and currently find themselves sixth in the table and in the Championship play-off positions.

The hosts have won their last three straight league games and booked their spot in this round of the FA Cup after knocking out fellow Championship opposition Ipswich Town 1-0 at home.

Chelsea picked up a vital three points on the road at Aston Villa in midweek, as João Pedro scored a hat-trick in a mightily impressive 4–1 victory.

The result ensured Chelsea stayed within touching distance of the top four after failing to win their previous three league matches.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said: “That underdog fighting spirit has got to be there because we know we’re up against a team that are Club World Champions and they’ve got a lot of talent.

“However, It’s all about us giving a really good account of ourselves, and we’ll see where that takes us on the night.”

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior said: “We know it will be a really difficult game. It’s a club that’s on the rise, and there is good energy and a good vibe around. It’s hard to play against that, so we will take the game really seriously.

“For us, it’s an opportunity to win a trophy. That’s what football is about and what the FA Cup is about. We need to be respectful of that. We understand that we’re the favourites to win the game, and rightfully so. Now we need to go and play like that tomorrow evening.”
