Benjamin Pavard has made a partial return to training ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League second leg between Inter Milan and Barcelona.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They anticipate that the 29-year-old will be called up to the Nerazzurri squad for the knockout clash.
Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard missed the first leg of his team’s Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.
The Frenchman suffered an ankle sprain during last weekend’s Serie A clash with Roma. Therefore, he was unable to feature against the Blaugranas.
Yann Bisseck started in place of Pavard in last Wednesday’s thrilling 3-3 draw.
Meanwhile, Pavard also missed out on yesterday’s Serie A win over Hellas Verona. That was hardly surprising.
However, the big question now is whether Pavard will be able to return for the second leg against Barcelona.

Over the last week, Benjamin Pavard has been working desperately to overcome his ankle problem.
There is little doubt that the injury could still be lingering for a little while. However, the Frenchman has made it an absolute priority to be back for Tuesday’s match.
And according to Sky Sport Italia, there is very positive news on that front.
The broadcaster report that today, Pavard has made a partial return to training.
The former Bayern Munich defender has not yet been able to complete a full session with the rest of his teammates.
However, reports Sky. Pavard did manage to work with the rest of the group for part of today’s session.
Then, there are a couple more days in which to continue recovering for Pavard.
Therefore, it now appears very likely that Pavard will be in the squad on Tuesday against Barcelona. Whether or not the 29-year-old can start the match is a separate question, though.
