Bafana Bafana want to prepare in the best possible way for the 2026 World Cup.

Hugo Broos picks the squad that will face Zambia in a friendly match!
In a much-anticipated announcement from the SAFA House in Nasrec, Hugo Broos, the head coach of South Africa's national football team, Bafana Bafana, has finalized his 23-man selection for an upcoming international friendly. The squad is set to face their northern neighbors, Zambia, in a clash that promises to ignite the pitch at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.
This final selection comes after the Belgian mentor whittled down his options from an extensive preliminary list of 43 players, which was first revealed on October 28th. The stage is now set for a Saturday evening showdown on November 15, 2025, with the action kicking off at 6:00 PM.
Beyond the immediate bragging rights, this match serves as a critical building block in Broos' strategic preparations for the upcoming AFCON tournament. All eyes are on Morocco, which will host the continental spectacle from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026. South Africa finds itself in a challenging Group B, where they will contend with the Pharaohs of Egypt, fellow southern Africans Zimbabwe, and Angola.
Broos has placed his trust in the following players to carry the nation's hopes:
