The Tricolor U-20 team played its second match in the prestigious Maurice Revello 2025 Tournament, where there was a key Rojiblanca interference, as Hugo Camberos scored the goal in the 1-1 draw against Japan, which kept Mexico alive in the French tournament.

In coach Eduardo Arce's starting lineup, there was a presence of the Cantera Rojiblanca, as Juan Pablo Uribe started on the left flank, looking to cause damage with his speed and overflow. At the start of the second half, Uribe left his place for Camberos to enter the field, a window in which Yael Padilla also came on as a substitute, with the aim of reversing the Japanese team's partial advantage.

In the 70th minute, a low service from the right found Hugo on the edge of the six-yard box, who tried to score with a first-time shot, but the ball jumped and the rebound was left for him to volley home.

With the draw against the Asian team sealed in regular time, a penalty shootout was held in which both Padilla and Camberos scored, with Hugo's being the final one to give the national team the extra point.

Mexico will play its ticket to the next round against Congo this Tuesday, June 10, where it will have to win to secure its ticket, without depending on the result between Japan and Denmark.
