Hugo Ekitike targets November training return with Liverpool | OneFootball

Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike (24) has set his sights on returning to training with Liverpool FC in November, before making his competitive come-back the following month, L’Equipe understands. The former PSG and Eintracht Frankfurt centre-forward has ruptured his right Achilles in April during Liverpool’s Champions League quarter-final loss to Les Parisiens. Due to the severity of Ekitike’s injury, no definitive timeline has been initially set for his return on action on Merseyside, although he was expected to miss a considerable chunk of the 2026-2027 Premier League season.

L’Equipe reports that Ekitike spent some time in Clairefontaine, France’s national teams headquarters, to pursue his recovery in September before reporting back to Liverpool. In recent days, the France international flew to the United States to consult a specialist. Ekitike is reportedly able to jog now, which means he’s on track with his recovery.

The 24-year-old, who was Liverpool’s best goalscorer last season, is aiming for a return to training in November, before making his competitive comeback in December. In the summer Liverpool included Ekitike in their Champions League squad, presumably for their league fixtures in January. Liverpool play Inter Milan away and host Lens in the new year.
