Corinthians advanced their mid-season preparations on Wednesday morning, with left-back Hugo Farias and forward Vitinho beginning the physical transition phase, the final step before a return to competitive action. According to Meu Timao, the pair joined this stage as the club continue their inter-season work.
Hugo has been out since 5 February after suffering a lateral meniscus injury in his right knee during a 3-0 victory over Capivariano in the Campeonato Paulista.
Vitinho is recovering from a right hip problem and has not played since 30 April, a 2-0 win against Peñarol of Uruguay in the Libertadores group stage.
Both are expected to be available to head coach Fernando Diniz for Corinthians' opening fixtures of the second half. The team return to official action on the 23rd at 19:30, hosting Remo at the Neo Química Arena in the final round of the first half of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
Diniz also regains centre-back João Pedro Tchoca, who has resumed full training after surgery to correct an inguinal hernia in May.
Forward Kayke remains sidelined as he continues to recover from a ligament injury in his left knee.
