Corinthians provide fitness update before FC Cascavel friendly | OneFootball

Corinthians face FC Cascavel in a 16:00 Sunday friendly at Estádio Olímpico Regional, with the club outlining who will miss out through fitness issues.

According to Meu Timao, the main new absentee is starting centre-back Gustavo Henrique. The 33-year-old was left out of the trip to Paraná for workload management, having skipped some sessions under Fernando Diniz last week due to hip discomfort. André Ramalho forms the centre-back pairing with Gabriel Paulista.

In defence, João Pedro Tchoca remains out as he reaches the final stage of recovery after surgery to correct an inguinal hernia. Left-back Hugo Farias is still treating a lateral meniscus injury in his right knee, following an operation in February.

In attack, Vitinho is the only fitness absentee. He felt pain in his right hip and suffered a hamstring tendon injury before the calendar break, and remains in treatment at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava.

Away from injuries, 17-year-old centre-back Iago Machado is with the Seleção Brasileira Sub-17 during a training spell for the age-group World Cup. Memphis Depay was eliminated on 29 June when the Netherlands lost to Morocco on penalties in the round of 32, then granted leave by the club. He remains in talks over a contract that ends on 31 July, and if no agreement is reached the number 10 would not return to the club.

After the friendly, Corinthians are next in official action on 23 July at 19:30, when they host Remo at Neo Química Arena in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
