Hull City Ask About Aston Villa And Newcastle United Target | OneFootball

Hull City have enquired about Aston Villa and Newcastle United’s midfield target, Teun Koopmeriners, according to journalist Mike White.

The 28-year-old defensive midfielder joined Juventus from Atalanta in the summer 2024 and he has been regular in their starting lineup.

Koopmeiners though could well be sold by Juventus this summer, with the Bianconeri keen to balance the books after missing out on the Champions League.

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa have landed Johan Manzambi, but are in the market for further engine room additions and have been linked with Koopmeiners.

The Dutchman is someone very much on Villa’s radar and they have been monitoring his situation.

Newcastle, on the other hand, saw two of their key players in midfield in the form of Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes depart this summer.

Although they have added talented youngsters Aladji Bamba and Sean Steur, Matthias Jaissle still wants to add a defensive midfielder to his set-up and it has been suggested that they could make experienced campaigner Koopmeiners their concrete target in the coming days.

Newcastle recently tried to tempt Pierre-Emile Hjobjerg to St James’ Park, but he rejected the move.

Now another Premier League outfit have joined the race, as Hull City have asked about Koopmeiers’ situation.

Hull secured promotion to the top flight last season and Sergej Jakirovic’s side have been active in the market to prepare for life in the Premier League.

While a move to Hull City would not carry the same appeal as Aston Villa and Newcastle, the Tigers could give themselves a chance if they move quickly.

Juventus are expected to sanction several departures to generate funds for new arrivals and they would welcome a three-way bidding war for the Dutch midfielder.

The Bianconeri paid a hefty fee of €50m to sign Koopmeiners from Atalanta and with the player having three more years left on his contract, Juventus will not let him leave on a cheap transfer fee in case of a permanent transfer.

It has also been suggested that Juventus could let Koopmeiners leave on loan if no permanent bid for the player arrives.
