Hull City are reportedly interested in Lazio left-back Luca Pellegrini, who won’t find room at Gennaro Gattuso’s court.

Luca Pellegrini Expected to Leave Lazio

The 27-year-old is a childhood Lazio supporter who joined the club in January 2023, initially on loan from Juventus. This season, the Roman locked in a starting role in Maurizio Sarri’s lineup for several months, but eventually lost his place to a revitalized Nuno Tavares.

In January, the Biancocelesti had found an agreement with Villarreal left-back Alfonso Pedraza, who signed a pre-contract. The 29-year-old Spaniard will join the back as a free agent next summer, making Pellegrini surplus to requirements. Nevertheless, the Italian has several suitors vying for his services, including a newly-promoted Premier League club.

Hull City Interested in Pellegrini

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Hull City have joined the race for the departing Lazio full-back. The English club has reportedly made initial contact with the player’s entourage.

The Tigers finished the campaign 6th in the Championship table, but went on to beat the odds and prevail in the playoffs. After eliminating Millwall in the semi-final, they punched their ticket to Premier League football with a 95th-minute winner over Middlesbrough in the final at Wembley.

Pellegrini Also Wanted at Como

Hull should expect competition from Serie A clubs, especially Como, who placed Pellegrini on their shortlist for a new left-back, as they look to replace Alberto Moreno. The Roman’s contract with Lazio will expire in a year, so he could be available at a modest asking price.
