Gianluca Di Marzio reports that newly promoted Hull City are targeting Fiorentina’s Niccolò Fortini on an initial loan, with an option to buy next summer.
Corriere dello Sport, via ViolaNews, claims the Tigers are ready to beat Torino to the Italy international and that the deal could be completed soon.
The 20-year-old, born in Lucca, can operate at full-back or as a wide midfielder on either flank. He made 26 appearances for La Viola last season and earned his first Italy cap.
Hull’s proposal would see Fortini move on loan initially, while the player has yet to agree to the switch. If he does, he would renew his Fiorentina contract, which expires next June and is currently worth €236,000 gross per year.
Hull are back in the Premier League after a decade away and are exploring low-risk additions with upside. A temporary move could suit all parties, giving Fortini exposure to the top flight while protecting Fiorentina’s asset. If it does not work out he could return to Serie A, but if he shines he may draw stronger offers next summer.
