Manchester United are preparing to start the Premier League season this Saturday against Hull City. The Red Devils have just completed a rollercoaster pre-season, which has included two wins, two draws and two losses.
This run included a disheartening 2-4 loss to AC Milan and Ruben Amorim last Saturday.
United have played Hull City 33 times in history, and they have been victorious in 22 of these encounters.
They have also drawn five of the games and lost the other six.
Here are three storylines to get the blood pumping.
The Red Devils have won 12 of the last 15 meetings, stretching back to 1975.
In fact, between 1975 and 2014, they won 10 consecutive matches.
They have not actually beaten Hull in the last two matches, including a 2-1 second leg defeat to the Tigers in the League Cup semi-finals. United still progressed to the final, however, after winning the first leg 2-0.
The last match between the two was a 0-0 draw in the Premier League in February 2017 under Jose Mourinho.
The Red Devils usually perform well against newly promoted sides, and this record is even better on the opening day.
Opta stats report that, in the 12 matches they have played to kick off the season against newly promoted sides, Manchester United have never lost in the top flight.
They have nine wins and three draws to their name.
In general, United have always started the season pretty well, whether against promoted sides or not.
They have won seven of their last ten opening Premier League fixtures. Nonetheless, last season they were beaten 0-1 by the eventual champions Arsenal, in spite of giving a strong account of themselves.
It is also the first time they have kicked off the new season away from home since facing AFC Bournemouth in August 2016.
