‘I can say…’: Trusted insider says a decision has been made involving Man Utd and Bayern, movement could be imminent

JJ Gabriel is now nailed on to leave Manchester United before he’s even made a senior appearance.

Indeed, one of the club’s most highly-rated prospects of the last decade is headed for the exit.

The situation came to a head last week when Gabriel and his family made clear his desire to move elsewhere with immediate effect.

It’s said that the final straw for the 15-year-old and his camp was when he watched fellow youngsters Harry Amass, 19, and Shea Lacey, also 19, make their Champions League debuts in United’s comfortable win over Sabah at Old Trafford.

United chiefs have privately outlined a clear career map for Gabriel, who was in line to make his maiden appearance in last week’s Carabao Cup opener against Brighton and Hove Albion.

However, after refusing to train in the days leading up to the tie, he ruled himself out of contention.

He, along with his agent father, is not satisfied with the first-team minutes on offer.

Now, German football insider Christian Falk has revealed that Bayern Munich have emerged as a surprise candidate to prise Gabriel from the Red Devils.

Gabriel flew to Catalonia last Friday to hold talks with Barcelona over a potential switch, and will presumably, if he hasn’t already, also meet with Real Madrid, who are believed to be leading the race for his signature.

“I can say that the family – JJ Gabriel’s mother is from Cyprus, and his father, a former Republic of Ireland international – have made a decision that the teenager (15) will definitely leave Manchester United and the Premier League.

“He’s turning 16 on 6th October, at which point he can make key decisions about his future,” Falk disclosed on his CF Bayern Insider column.

He added: “There is the special interest of elite European clubs: Bayern Munich (Christoph Freund has already admitted his admiration for the player), PSG, Barcelona, and Real Madrid.

“These four clubs are famous for winning titles virtually every season. That’s why the decision was made that Gabriel would leave United, as they’re not a club currently used to bringing in silverware at any comparable rate of frequency. And he wants to win titles.”
