Manchester United midfielder Casemiro and defender Harry Maguire have been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.

They will be out of contract in the summer of 2026, and Manchester United have not agreed on extensions with them yet. Manager Ruben Amorim has now cast major doubts on their future by claiming that he is unaware of what will happen to the players in the coming months. However, he has maintained that he continues to count on them, and they are important players for the team.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United are willing to offer them extensions in the coming months.

Casemiro has been quite inconsistent, and perhaps it would be ideal for the club to move him on if they can find a quality alternative. As far as Maguire is concerned, he has done quite well in recent weeks, and he is certainly an important player for the team.

What next for Harry Maguire and Casemiro?

“My goal is to continue counting on Casemiro and Harry Maguire, who have both had similar issues with their contracts,” Amorim said, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. “I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future, but right now, we’re fully focused on this season.”

Manchester United cannot afford to let the two players move on as free agents unless they bring quality alternatives first. It will be interesting to see if they can find a quality defensive midfielder and a defender. They have been linked with players like Carlos Baleba and Elliot Anderson in recent months.

Meanwhile, they should look to add more depth to the defensive unit as well. Maguire is in the twilight stage of his career, and they cannot plan long-term with him. It remains to be seen how the situation develops in the coming months.
