Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk believes the signings made by the club in the summer transfer window have added a lot of maturity and height to the group.

Apart from Gabriel Gudmundsson, all the players the Whites signed over the summer are more than six feet tall, while they have also signed internationals.

The nature of the signings hint at Daniel Farke’s keenness to add physicality to the squad that earned him promotion from the Championship last term.

Struijk, a long-serving player for the Whites, insists that they have brought in more maturity to the team with the business done.

The 26-year-old is also of the opinion that since in the Premier League Leeds cannot dominate games like they did in the Championship, they need players who will give them edge from set-pieces and also influence the speed of the game.

Struijk told LUTV (5.34): “I feel like we have got a lot of maturity.

“Everyone that has come here has played at an international level, have got a lot of games under their belt.

“They are experienced to know the game and how to play the game.

“Obviously, size is a thing people are speaking about but also you have to remind yourself that when we play in the Premier League we are not going to be as dominant as we were in the Championship.

“So, set-pieces – just anything the changes of speed, the speed of the game – these are all the things that are being influenced by the new players.”

One new arrival Leeds are already delighted with is Noah Okafor, who moved to the club from Italian giants AC Milan.

Yet another new signing Jaka Bijol, who is yet to be handed his Premier League debut, has also been praised by manager Farke.
