Leeds United Women return to FA Women’s National League Cup action this weekend, facing York City Ladies at the University of York Sports Centre.
Leeds currently sit joint-top of Group U in the cup after beating third tier Halifax Women and drawing at Norton & Stockton Ancients, whereas York are still without a point at the foot of the four-team table.
Last time out, the Whites ran out 7-0 winners over league strugglers Blackburn with goals coming from Drew Greene and a Chloe Dixon brace in the first half, and finishes from Amy Woodruff, Darcie Greene, Alice Hughes and Monique Watson after the break.
The hosts are coming in off the back of a goalless draw away at Chorley last weekend. Their last home game ended in a 3-1 defeat to Chester-le-Street Town, leaving the Minsterbelles ninth in the early season FA WNL Division One North standings.
The two sides met on the final day of last season as Simon Wood’s team ran out 4-1 victors, courtesy of a Woodruff brace and goals from Hughes and Ellie White.
Action from the University of York Sports Centre gets underway at 2pm.
