Sky Germany understands that Jürgen Klopp’s first top priority is to uncover a new right-back for the German national team.

As during his time at Liverpool, where he developed Trent Alexander-Arnold, Klopp places enormous importance on the full-backs.

He is already closely monitoring Germany’s youth national teams in search of the right profile for the future.

Regarding Kimmich's role, Klopp said: “I have ideas, but I haven't spoken to anyone yet. I'm not going to assign any positions here.

“Whoever is very good, really keen, and whoever gets even better the moment they put on the national team jersey, will play,” he added.
