‘I heard’: Journalist says Spurs and Aston Villa looking at Bayern star | OneFootball

Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae could still attract interest from several clubs during the upcoming transfer window.

The South Korean has dropped behind Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah in the pecking order, but he remains an important part of Vincent Kompany’s plans.

Kompany has regularly rotated his squad, allowing Min-jae to feature prominently across competitions despite his position in the defensive hierarchy.

Kim Min-jae: Aston Villa and Tottenham interested

Kompany remains very happy with Min-jae’s performances, and the South Korean is expected to play an important role for Bayern again this season.

The centre-back is also settled in Germany, and we reported earlier this month that Bayern are planning to hold talks with him over his future.

Christian Falk has exclusively told CFBayern Insider that Aston Villa, AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in signing Min-jae.

Falk said: “I can say it’s still true that Bayern Munich will be the first club he opens any kind of talks with. But it will depend on a number of things, like what Bayern are offering this Autumn when they open talks over his future? Will they say Min-jae Kim can sign a new contract? Or is he still one of the players the club would consider selling to bring in some money?

“This is why other clubs have Kim in their focus. Aston Villa is interested, and I heard both Tottenham and AC Milan are also looking at the South Korean international. In fact the three clubs in question already made contact in the summer for Kim, but in the end there was no offer.

“So, nothing concrete at the moment. I wouldn’t expect a January move or anything. Everything will depend on what Bayern Munich will tell Kim in contract talks this year.”

Kim Min-jae: Will he move to the Premier League?

Min-jae has plenty of experience at the highest level, and his defensive qualities could make him an attractive option for Aston Villa, Tottenham or AC Milan should he decide to leave Bayern.

The South Korean has already experienced Serie A during his time with Napoli, but a move to the Premier League could also appeal to him if either Villa or Spurs were to present a compelling offer.

For now, however, there is nothing to suggest that Min-jae is actively looking to leave Bayern, with the upcoming contract talks likely to play a major role in determining his future.
