The 30-year-old was a prolific goalscorer for Peterborough United in recent years, but opted to make the switch from London Road to fellow League One outfit Rotherham last summer, linking up with the club for a second spell.

Whilst many saw this as a marquee signing from the Millers, the reunion didn't pan out as hoped for both parties. Clarke-Harris found the net just seven times in 22 outings, as the club languished in mid-table.

Now, the striker will leave the New York Stadium after just 12 months, in search of a new opportunity elsewhere, and according to journalist Reşat Can Özbudak, he's set to head to Pendikspor, who play in the second tier of Turkish football.

Following confirmation of his departure from Rotherham, Clarke-Harris took to X, sharing a message with his now former supporters.

Many supporters were excited to see the striker return to Yorkshire last summer, as they looked to bounce back from a miserable Championship campaign, where they finished in a very distant last place.

Following the news that Clarke-Harris and Rotherham had agreed to mutually terminate his contract to allow him to pursue a new opportunity elsewhere, the forward took to X and shared a message to the Millers faithful.

The Jamaican posted a picture of him with former teammate Malik Wilks, and wrote the following caption: "All the best to @RotherhamUnited I hope success finds its way to the club ❤️💪🏽."

It's fair to say that Clarke-Harris' second spell in Yorkshire didn't go as planned for either the player or the club, and now the former Peterborough man will head into a new chapter which appears to be starting in Türkiye.

With Clarke-Harris looking likely to be joining Pendikspor, it's an interesting new journey for the veteran striker, who didn't live up to the hype in his second stint at the New York Stadium.

Clarke-Harris was linked with a return to another former club in Bristol Rovers, five years after he departed the Gas, according to a report from BristolLive last month, but that won't be happening.

No further developments have been shared since then of Rovers' interest, but this initial interest was prior to the 30-year-old's release from Rotherham. The forward almost rejoined the Gas two years ago for a club-record fee.

Whilst there will likely be plenty of clubs interested in signing Clarke-Harris, Pendikspor have seemingly made their move quickly for the striker, and it will be interesting to see how he gets on at a level of football that will be pretty much an unknown to him.
