Enzo Maresca confirmed he’s not spoken with Filip Jorgensen amid reports the goalkeeper is looking to leave in January.
It was reported this week Jorgensen was considering his options ahead off the transfer window, and wants to play more regularly with the World Cup next summer.
The 23-year-old joined from Spanish side Villarreal in the summer of 2024 for a fee believed to worth around £20.9m, and he’s made 28 appearances for the Blues.
Other than a brief run of games last season Jorgensen has had to play second fiddle to Robert Sanchez since he arrived at the club.
The Denmark international has made four appearances this season, but his only Premier League minutes came in the defeat to Manchester United when Sanchez got sent off.

Jorgensen hasn’t impressed with his performances this season and struggled against both Lincoln and Wolves in the Carabao Cup.
It’s believed Chelsea would prefer to keep Jorgensen in January given how difficult it might be to find a replacement, and Maresca has now spoken on the situation.
“I spoke with Filip at the beginning of the season and I didn’t speak with Filip in the last days about that,” he told his pre-match press conference.
“I think all the players that they don’t play a lot or they don’t use to play, they would like to get more minutes, more games, it’s completely normal. But I didn’t speak with Filip.”
If Chelsea were to sanction Jorgensen’s departure then they would need to bring a replacement in to maintain their depth between between the sticks.

One option would be to recall Mike Penders from Strasbourg, however bringing the 20-year-old back isn’t ideal as he needs to be playing every week to continue his development.
Chelsea could look to do a cheap deal for Mike Maignan, but outside of that there doesn’t appear to be many options, and it will be interesting to see what the club decide to do.
