Liverpool said on Sunday that Ibrahima Konaté will leave at the end of his contract this summer. AS reports the 27-year-old could continue his career at Real Madrid.

RMC Sport says there is already a verbal agreement on a four-year contract, and Fabrizio Romano adds he has rejected several offers from Saudi Arabia.

Madrid would pay no transfer fee because he is out of contract, but would still have to wait to sign him until after the club's presidential elections on Sunday, seven June. The France international was a World Cup squad member.

Incumbent president Florentino Perez has promised new stars this summer if he is re-elected against rival Enrique Riquelme.

The defender, who has played for Sochaux, Leipzig and Liverpool, could be among them, and would link up with compatriots Mbappé, Tchouaméni and Camavinga.
