That’s according to a new report in TEAMtalk which states that the Reds remain hopeful of tying him down to a new deal.

Konate appears to have priced himself out of a move elsewhere - with a French report last week stating that PSG were unable to satisfy his contract demands.

Konate looking for less than £300k per week

Liverpool too haven’t been willing to give Konate what he wants in contract negotiations - with the report revealing that the sums required are LESS than £300k per week.

Still the Premier League champions have been left frustrated in talks with Konate as the player has REJECTED several offers including one in the last month.

Sporting director Richard Hughes was probably trying to get ahead of the competition with his latest contract offer to Konate - but no offers have so far come in for the player on a free transfer.

Therefore Konate is left with one clear choice - drop his demands in order to get a deal from Liverpool or any of his European suitors.

The Frenchman and his entourage may have overestimated the demand for his services and as we tick towards the end of the season all options remain very much in play.
