Zlatan Ibrahimovic has respected the decision of the Curva Sud to not attend the first day of preseason as they do every year normally, insisting that it is ‘all love’ between the fans and management.

Today is the ‘raduno’ Milanello and there is a strange climate surrounding the club given Paulo Fonseca’s arrival as head coach was greeted with a mixed reaction, while he will find no new signings on day one as a lot of the big names are missing too due to international commitments.

Ibrahimovic spoke alongside Fonseca who was unveiled to the media and the Milan fans in a press conference today and he was asked about the fact that the Curva have decided not to show up on day one of preseason.

“I understand that the fans want success but we’re on the same page. The ultras won’t be here today and I understand because there are signings to be made,” he said.

“In the end though it’s only love between them and us because we do this to please our supporters and with the ambition that Milan have there is pressure.

“Milan’s players, coach, the people that work for us – not just at Milanello but at Casa Milan too – they know that we aim to win and have to win.

“We’re all on the same page. Is there a guarantee? No. But we’re all in the same boat. We move forward, together. We have aims and we’ll achieve them. Keep pedalling and we’ll get there.”

Ibrahimovic also confirmed that the club have given up on the idea of signing Joshua Zirkzee and that they have a name in mind for the striker that they want, but referred to him as ‘Mister X’ so as not to reveal it to the journalists present.
