Mauro Icardi has received a precautionary driving suspension in Buenos Aires that runs, symbolically, until one January 2099, with the city's transport ministry imposing the measure in line with "Provincial Law 13927" in Buenos Aires province, AS reports.

The action followed a video posted by his partner that captured several traffic violations, including him driving with an expired licence.

The footage showed Eugenia "La China" Suarez without a seatbelt and leaning more than half her body out of a moving car while Icardi was at the wheel.

The offence carries licence withdrawal and an assessment of his fitness to drive before any new licence is issued, so he must pass a test to regain it.

It caps a difficult start to the season. His Galatasaray contract has expired and he remains without a club, with interest from Qatar, Mexico and Argentina yet to produce an agreement.
