Garnacho arrived in a deal worth £40m from Manchester United last summer, but the 21-year-old has really struggled to make an impact.
The Argentina international has managed just one Premier League goal this season, and the fan base haven’t particularly warmed to him.
Garnacho has shown moments of quality, but he’s really lacked consistency, and more often than not he’s failed to deliver on the pitch this season.
It’s been reported Chelsea are open to selling Garnacho this summer after just one season at the club, and things simply haven’t worked out so far.
Garnacho is regularly booed by opposition supporters, and Cole has warned the Argentine he needs to tread carefully if he wants to endear himself to Chelsea fans.
“There’s always been signs he [Garnacho] can be a top player,” he said as quoted by The Standard.
“With Alejandro it can be the noise around him sometimes. To be fair to him, there’s not been too much this season.
“But when there’s historic issues [with Manchester United], then as a player you have to really toe the line.
“If I was advising him, I’d say he needs to find a homeland where he’s going to be settled and happy.
“The Chelsea fans are a little bit disgruntled with him at the moment, and I agree that he hasn’t played well. But he’s not been dreadful; he’s just not at his best.”
