Alessio Tacchinardi has been talking about Sandro Tonali.
The midfielder having been outstanding for both Newcastle United and Italy these past 12 months, since his ban ended.
Former Italy international midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi won the Champions League and five Serie A titles with Juventus.
Tacchinardi believes Juventus will win the Scudetto (Serie A title) in the very near future…if they sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United.
There is a constant ongoing desperation from those in Italy – whether it is journalists, fans, retired players – to bring Sandro Tonali home, to have him playing in their domestic league not the Premier League.
They take it as a personal insult that one of their very best players, arguably the best now, is playing in another country, another league.
The Italian media still make up stuff, claiming a return for Sandro Tonali could be imminent, though these claims have reduced to an extent in number. As they know the true reality is that Tonali loves it at Newcastle United and playing in the very best and toughest domestic league, which is helping him improve all the time as a player.
On top of all that, Sandro Tonali has repeatedly made clear how grateful he is for the support he received from the Newcastle fans and everybody at the club, during his ban.
So we should all take it as a compliment that those in Italy fantasise about having Sandro Tonali leaving Newcastle United and returning to Serie A.
“I had the chance to follow Italy in Bergamo.
“Seeing Sandro Tonali and imagining him alongside Kephren Thuram…
“I bet Juventus would win the Scudetto.
“If Juve signs Tonali, they’ll win the Scudetto.”
Alessio Tacchinardi also asked about his induction into the Juventus hall of fame:
“What do I feel? Emotion and pride.
“When I went to see Juventus with my father, I remember his struggle to get the money to go to the match.
“I was in love with Juventus and Platini.
“I was aware of my father’s sacrifices when he took me to the old Comunale, which was the first stadium I trained in.
