Igor Tudor apologised to the Tottenham supporters after his side were thrashed 5-2 by Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
Spurs found themselves 3-0 down after 15 minutes, with Tudor deciding to bring off goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky on 17 minutes and replace him with Guglielmo Vicario.
“After you see what happened, for sure it’s the wrong decision,” Tudor said on the decision to start Kinsky.
“But, for me, it was the right decision to do, thinking before. The team changed the competition, it was the right moment to do but what happened happened.
“I never changed the goalkeeper after 20 minutes but this time I did. It happened.
“I explained to Toni, also speaking after, that he is the right guy and a good goalkeeper. Unfortunately, it happened in this big game, these mistakes.”
Tudor has now lost all four of his games in charge of Spurs and says “everything is going against” his team at this moment.
“It’s not the moment to speak too much,” he said. “Strange game. We give them three goals.
“Very, very strange. Very unusual.
“We apologise to the fans who were here today and everyone. It’s a difficult moment.
“Everything looks like it’s going wrong. Small mistakes, we pay for everything.
“Even at the end when the two players collide (Romero and Palhinha). It looks like everything is going against us.
“Unbelievable, difficult to explain. It’s the first time I see this, all these things, in my career, 15 years.
“My focus is on the problems and the players. We need to stay positive.”
