Igor Tudor explains why he subbed off Antonin Kinsky against Atletico Madrid
Tottenham manager Igor Tudor defended his decision to substitute goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky in the 17th minute during their 5-2 loss to Atletico Madrid, following two significant errors.
Kinsky, 22, was surprisingly chosen over first-choice Guglielmo Vicario and was responsible for Atletico's first and third goals.
Tudor stated he had never made such an early goalkeeper substitution in his 15-year managerial career but felt it was necessary to protect Kinsky and the team.
The Croatian manager confirmed Kinsky apologised to the team in the dressing room and accepted the decision to be taken off.
Tudor, who has lost all four games since taking charge of Spurs, insisted he is not concerned about being sacked, focusing instead on helping the team.
