Cuca’s side completed their final tune-up at CT Rei Pelé on Wednesday and are not expected to have Igor Vinicius and Gabriel Bontempo for Thursday’s training game against Osasco Sporting at 15:00, also at CT Rei Pelé.

According to Diario Do Peixe, Igor remains in physical transition, limited to conditioning with the group, while Bontempo has been working indoors. The right-back previously broke a toe and had injections before the calendar pause, the fracture has healed and he is in the final stages of recovery. Bontempo is dealing with pubis inflammation.

Attacking midfielder Thaciano has finished his transition and is training normally. Before the break he sustained a right thigh muscle injury and had been alternating between full sessions and strength work.

All three missed the 3-0 friendly win over União São João at Pacaembu last Saturday. Now Thaciano should be available for the training game.

Thursday’s game will be open to the media but closed to the public. With the Portugal trip cancelled, the football department has arranged alternative run-outs to build match sharpness.

This is the third week of the mid-season programme and the last full week of training. Santos return to competition next week, starting against Botafogo on Thursday 16 at 19:30 at Nilton Santos.
