According to Globo.com, right-back Igor Vinícius will miss Santos’ meeting with Velo Clube in the eighth and final round of the Paulista first phase. The match is on Sunday at 20:30 Brasília time at Vila Belmiro.
He picked up his third yellow card in the win over Noroeste on Sunday in the seventh round, triggering an automatic suspension.
Forced to change his XI, Vojvoda should turn to Mayke, who has started when Igor Vinícius has been absent. JP Chermont is another option, though he has not played for the senior side since May last year.
Vojvoda will have Gabriel Menino back. The midfielder was sent off in the clássico with São Paulo in the fifth round and missed the Noroeste game.
There is hope for the return of Neymar, who trained with the group last week, but the staff have been cautious with the number 10. Zé Rafael could also return after patellar tendinitis in his left knee ruled him out of the last round, while Willian Arão remains a doubt after kidney stone surgery and two weeks out.
Adonis Frías and Gustavo Henrique remain out, the former with a right calf injury and the latter with a right thigh adductor problem.
