‘I’ll Never Be Satisfied’ – Tottenham Hotspur Out-on-loan Star Makes Growth Admission | OneFootball

Tottenham Hotspur out-on-loan defender Radu Dragusin has insisted that he ‘can give even more’ to Fiorentina after he featured in Serie A against Napoli on Sunday but will ‘never be satisfied’ with what he is producing.

Dragusin arrived at N17 from Italian side Genoa in 2024 as a highly rated up and coming centre-back, but due to inconsistent performances and a serious ACL injury, did not become a regular starter for Spurs.

Over the summer, Tottenham added several players to strengthen their backline, and Dragusin returned to Italy on a loan deal with Fiorentina.

This term, Dragusin has made seven appearances for La Viola so far in all competitions and also chipped in with two assists.

Fiorentina secured a 1-1 draw against Napoli on Sunday and when asked about his performance, Dragusin insisted that he can still improve.

The 24-year-old believes that he can give more to the team and stressed he will never be content with his performances as he wants to continue to grow.

Dragusin was quoted as saying by Italian outlet Firenze Viola: “I think I can still improve.

“I’ll never be satisfied with what I do, otherwise there’s no growth.

“This is my mentality. I can give even more to the team.”

Asked whether he is suited to playing a high line defensively, the Romanian added: “Every match changes depending on the opponent. You need a lot of intensity in one-on-one duels. That’s why you have to be very careful.”

Dragusin joined Fiorentina on a season-long loan deal and former Italy defender Marco Lanna believes he is an ‘exceptionally strong’ defender.

The Romanian defender’s contract at Tottenham runs until 2030, but his move to Fiorentina would become permanent as it contains an obligation to buy if he makes 22 appearances during the course of the current season.

Tottenham will be keen for that to happen as they look to offload the Romanian on a permanent basis for a pre-agreed fee.

If Dragusin starts to hit high levels though and show he is fulfilling the potential Tottenham spotted, there may be questions about the club allowing Fabio Paratici to take him back to Italy.
