Chelsea had a decent first half against Man City today, but crumpled in the second the moment the away team scored.
It was more evidence of a total lack of resilience in this team. They’ve incapable of overcoming any kind of setback. This was put to Liam Rosenior after the game, who was asked how he intended to do something about it.
“I’m accountable. This is a group that something we have to improve at. It starts on the training pitch, your habits and values. We’ve already spoken about these things,” the Chelsea manager said to Sky Sports at full time.
“I can’t say there was a lack of effort, especially in the first half. There was a lack of confidence in the second half, we started losing the ball more easily. We have to improve because at the moment, we’re in a difficult place and have another big game next week.”
If he keeps taking responsibility, people are entitled to expect something to change. At the moment he looks more out of his depth with every passing week.
Fans sarcastically cheered some of Chelsea’s passing in the latter stages of the game, a sure sign things are going very wrong.
Chelsea’s second half collapse saw them concede three goals and fold pretty meekly in the end.
