Man City believe the Premier League title race with Arsenal is back on after securing a massive victory over Chelsea on Sunday.

Nico O’Reilly, Marc Guehi and Jeremy Doku all scored in the second half at Stamford Bridge to secure a 3-0 win and bring them within six points of the Gunners in the table.

The two sides meet at Eastlands next weekend in what Pep Guardiola admits will be a “definitive” clash in the quest for the title.

Man City set sights on Arsenal and title after Chelsea win

“Well, we’ve had a three games, but the best team in England so far is Arsenal,” he said after the final whistle. “The best team in Europe so far is Arsenal, because the numbers are there, the consistency they have had.

“But we have the definitive match ball next Sunday, and will prepare well this week.

“They will adjust, compared to the Carabao Cup final and what we have to do with our people to try to perform well.

“It’s what defines the teams, it’s how you play. In October, November, January, February, if you don’t grow as a team, and the way you play, you don’t win.

“So we have to insist to play better and better, that’s the only thing.”

Doku said “I would be crazy if I didn’t believe” in Man City’s chances of finish first. “I believe the race is on. We have a big game now, we’re going to recover well and look forward to it.

“They will come with hunger. They don’t want to just give it to us so we have to go and take it. Trust me, we’ll be well prepared.”

When asked if the Arsenal game will decide the destination of the Premier League title, the winger responded: “I think so. If you win this game, it is a big punch towards them.

“If you lose, it’s in their hands and we have to wait for them to lose. But if we win, it’s in our hands and I prefer to have it in my hands.”
