The Egypt international was left on the bench by Slot for the third game in a row, and it’s clear he’s not at all happy with the Dutch tactician’s decision.

Speaking after the game, Salah did not hold back as he said he now has no relationship with the Liverpool manager, whilst suggesting someone is trying to force him out of the club.

The 33-year-old also admitted he feels very disappointed with how he’s being treated, saying he feels like he’s been thrown under the bus despite giving so much to the Reds over the years.

Mohamed Salah’s explosive quotes in full as Liverpool’s season spirals further out of control

See below for Salah’s quotes, as per vg.no, as he didn’t hold back with his thoughts after yet another awful result for Liverpool in what is turning into an absolute nightmare season.

“I can’t believe it, I’m very disappointed,” he said.

“I’ve done so much for this club, everyone can see that over the years, especially last season. To be on the bench, I don’t know why. I feel like the club is throwing me under the bus. That’s how I feel.

“I said many times before that I have a good relationship with the manager, suddenly we don’t have a relationship, I don’t know why.

“It’s not acceptable to me, to be honest. I don’t know why it always happens to me. ‘We throw Mo under the bus, because he’s the problem.’ I don’t think I’m the problem.

“I called my mother yesterday, you didn’t know I wasn’t going to start today, I knew that. I said come to the Brighton game, it doesn’t matter if I play or not, I’m going to enjoy it.

“We’ll see what happens, in my mind I’m going to enjoy it anyway, because I don’t know what’s going to happen anyway. The game will be at Anfield, so that will be my goodbye before I go to AFCON.

“The club made a lot of promises this summer, so far I’ve been benched three games in a row. You can’t say they’ve kept their promises.”

Can Arne Slot bounce back from this?

Needless to say, this interview really couldn’t have been timed much worse for Slot.

The Reds boss is really struggling to keep things together for the team right now, and Salah has very publicly called him out and undermined his authority here.

Many Liverpool fans will likely be siding with Salah at this point, as he’s a club legend, but it’s also not exactly the most professional behaviour.

Still, one has to wonder quite how bad things have got behind the scenes between Salah and Slot for the player to speak so openly about this.
