The Deportivo Alavés dugout could be vacant within days, with River Plate close to appointing Eduardo Coudet, according to Superdeporte.

The Argentine club have intensified contacts in recent hours and an agreement appears to be advancing, pending final details. A return home to manage one of the continent’s giants is difficult for the coach to reject.
