A forensic report found no injuries on a four-year-old girl alleged to have been raped at Palmeiras’ social club in western São Paulo on the 10th. The lack of traces does not rule out abuse, and the investigation continues.
According to Globo.com, CCTV captured the child entering the men’s changing room. The family were told she stayed about 15 seconds inside, and the mother reported the incident shortly afterwards.
Other elements are being examined and further witnesses will be heard. A 74-year-old club member is under investigation for rape of a vulnerable person and has not yet been located.
After the mother briefly lost sight of her daughter, the girl returned from the direction of the toilets and said she had been in the men’s changing room. When asked where she had been, the child called it a secret.
At home during a bath, the mother noticed an unusual secretion in the girl’s intimate area, then contacted relatives and police. The child later alleged the man took her to the bathroom and touched her.
The girl was sent for forensic examination and specialist care. Palmeiras began an internal inquiry, reviewed CCTV, forwarded material to police, and suspended the suspect. A club doctor assisted the family, and a lawyer accompanied them to the Women’s Police Station.
His defence plans to comment once given full access to the case files, with proceedings confidential and any improper disclosure subject to legal action. He remains available to assist authorities.
