Eintracht Frankfurt received the ‘Building Bridges’ special distinction as part of the prestigious diversity awards.

A great honour for Eintracht Frankfurt: CEO Axel Hellmann accepted the special ‘Building Bridges’ Impact of Diversity award on behalf of the club at the Accenture Campus in Kronberg im Taunus. Since 2021, the initiative has honoured the social commitment of individuals and institutions in the area of equal opportunities and diversity.

Impact of Diversity presented awards in 16 different categories, with the laudatory speech for Eintracht Frankfurt being given by German lawyer, author and philosopher Michael Friedmann. The decisive factor in Eintracht Frankfurt’s selection was the club’s outstanding achievements in the areas of diversity and inclusion. The club has taken a clear stand against racism and antisemitism for many years and is thus a trailblazer for other sports clubs and fan clubs.

As recently as June, the club with over 140,000 members joined forces with Tent Partnership for Refugees (Tent) at the ProfiCamp to make it easier for refugees to integrate into the labour market – the first football club in the world to join the German Tent alliance. And Dr Katharina Keller recently became the first woman to join the club’s executive committee, to name just two examples.

At the event, the Independent Federal Anti-Discrimination Commissioner and Head of the Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency, Ferda Ataman, reiterated the call for greater diversity.
