Imray hits back as Watford climb to sixth | OneFootball

Wrexham 1-1 Watford at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday, the visitors rising from 16th to sixth in the Championship as the hosts stay unbeaten.

In the 14th minute Luca Kjerrumgaard glanced a header into the bottom left from Omar Traoré's cross to put the Hornets ahead. Danny Imray levelled with a right-footed finish from the centre of the box (22.).

Imray also struck the post before the interval. Anthony Patterson then tipped away Jordan Zemura's drive before first half stoppage time and denied Iker Bravo Solanilla after the restart.

After a flurry of changes around the hour mark, the Hornets' substitute Martin Payero forced Patterson into a high save from distance, before George Thomason rattled the bar during a sustained Wrexham spell.

Traoré departed injured just before the break, replaced by Albert Eames.

Wrexham finished with 59.2% possession and 10 corners as they carried long spells of pressure. The Hornets registered six shots on target from 10 attempts.

Wrexham sit 13th after two draws. Next, Wrexham host Birmingham. The Hornets face Peterborough United in the EFL Cup before meeting West Ham United in the league.
