Watford could be left frustrated by what could have been with Femi Azeez, who is the subject of major transfer interest this summer.
Femi Azeez's days with Millwall seem as though they're numbered heading into the final few weeks of the transfer window, which slams shut on Tuesday 1st September at 23:00 BST.
The winger has been the subject of plenty of interest throughout the summer transfer window, and it'll be interesting to see which club wins the race to land his signature.
Azeez's rise up the English football pyramid has caught the eye for all the right reasons, and he'll be hoping to have his future resolved at the earliest of opportunities.
Hull City and Brighton & Hove Albion are some of the clubs rumoured to be keen on a deal to sign the Lions attacker, although it remains to be seen whether any formal bids have been submitted.

One club that could be left frustrated by what could have been with Azeez is Watford, who previously had him on their books as a youngster.
Azeez was contracted with the Hornets as a 14-year-old, but left the club to move to non-league Northwood, before going on to play for the likes of Wealdstone and Reading later down the line.
He's certainly gone on to bigger and better things since his spell with Watford, but the Hornets have certainly missed out on a sizeable cash windfall from any potential agreement that Azeez has with any interested clubs this summer.
Watford aren't expected to be challenging for promotion this season, but picked up an impressive win over Southampton on the opening day of the 2026/27 Championship season, and whilst they've managed to sell Nestory Irankunda this summer for a big fee, it would've been even better if they'd seen something in Azeez and developed him at Vicarage Road a number of years ago.

There's no doubting that Azeez has been an excellent servant to Millwall since joining the club in 2024, after bringing an end to a five-year spell with Reading.
There were questions raised by some Reading supporters whether Azeez was capable of making the step-up to playing to a high standard on a regular basis in the Championship, but he's certainly silenced any of those doubters.
The winger had his breakthrough season with Millwall last season, as he played his part in their promotion push last term, which ended in frustration, as Millwall were beaten by Hull City in their play-off semi-final.
He's also won his first international cap for Nigeria in May 2026, where he netted a brace in a 2-0 win against Zimbabwe, which capped off a memorable season for club and country.

Millwall boss Alex Neil has recently issued an update on Azeez's future, and stated that Millwall's talisman won't leave imminently, but there is interest in the former Reading winger.
"As it stands right now, we’re not in negotiations where Femi’s going to leave tomorrow," Neil said.
"Like every other player. If you ask me that about anybody, I could say, ‘Well, they might not play because somebody might come and buy them for whatever between now and the end of the window.’
“I think things are well documented with Femi – there is interest in Femi. We’ll wait and see what happens between now and the end of the window."
Azeez was forced off with a hamstring injury early into Millwall's clash with Bristol City, but is only expected to miss one to two weeks of action, which will raise questions whether he's played his last game for the Lions.
Whilst Millwall fans will hope that is not the case, their new transfer model is evident - sell high, buy relatively cheap, and cashing in on Azeez and landing a windfall would make sense, as well as seeing clubs like Watford hurt over their mistake to release him as a youngster.
