The Blues are once again set for another busy summer and have already agreed a deal with Ipswich to sign striker Liam Delap for £30m.

Chelsea may well go for another striker, but the club are also looking to bring in a centre back and right footed attacker to bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad.

PSG could beat Chelsea to River Plate star Mastantuono

Chelsea need players to improve the first team, but as has been the case under the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital ownership they are also on the look out for the stars of the future.

The Blues have two of South America’s top talents arriving this summer in Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez, and they’ve identified Mastantuono as a player they want to bring in.

Mastantuono is said to have a £38m release clause in his contract with Manchester United and a host of Europe’s other top clubs said to be interested in the 17-year-old.

However, it looks like Chelsea could miss out on the River Plate sensation after Romano reported the attacking midfielder is in talks with PSG.

He took to X.com and said:

“Paris Saint-Germain are in concrete talks to sign Franco Mastantuono from River, not a done deal yet but initial contacts made.”

Mastantuono is set to star for River Plate at the Club World next month and is the youngest goalscorer in the club’s history.

The young Argentine is the latest hot property from the River Academy and he could follow in the footsteps of Julian Alvarez and Enzo Fernandez in having a successful career.

Chelsea to target Nico Williams and Gittens

Chelsea have other names on their list including 22-year-old Nico Williams and Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.

Williams has been described as a “dream” target, but could demand as much as £400,000 per week to make a switch to the Premier League.

Chelsea are said to “love” Gittens, who scored 12 goals for Dortmund this season and are thought to be prepared to offer him a deal which would see him double his current salary.
